The specifics of the first national standard of the Republic of Belarus in the field of cataloging information resources
Abstract
Transformations in the cataloging system of information resources of the Republic of Belarus, revealed as a result of a comparative analysis of GOST 7.1-2003 and STB 7.1-2024 “Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules of compilation”. At the same time, the emphasis is on updating the conceptual and terminological apparatus, updating the structure of the bibliographic description and the distribution of the elements of the bibliographic description, taking into account the introduction of a new status – “conditionally mandatory element”. The directions of harmonization of the national standard with the international ISBD rules are outlined.
